Amanda Johnson
Have lived in the Loire Valley, France since 2006. I love skiing, theatre, Opera, horse-racing and reading. I regularly take part in amateur dramatics both on the stage and in films and now have discovered running.
I’ve been using an app on my iPhone called “Map my Run” this was recommended to me by Chris Wanlas at Jupiter Private Clients at the Tour de Finance last month at Saumur. It has helped me now end with monitoring my distance and times. It links directly to my twitter and Facebook so knowing other people can see your results helps keep me focused. My 5km time is 30 minutes which I’m very proud of and my last 10km times was just over an hour so am aiming for 8,2 km in under an hour.
I think the hardest part for me, will be meeting up with my running friends the night before the Marathon in Valbonne and not drinking too much or having too late a night!!!’
The Race is over
It nearly killed me but I did my best ever time and longest distance on the day! All credit goes to my fabulous running partner Thays for pushing and pulling me all the way. The atmosphere was amazing and the enthusiasm of the crowds carried you that extra step. Roll on next year!!
